"As you read these candidates' policy preferences on their websites, try to apply the following test:
Think about their statements on policy and check and see if the opposite makes sense. For example, when a candidate says "I am for education", ask yourself, "Which candidate is against education? And which candidate is against border security?"

William Wallace's petitions have been pulled for review. Democrats would be happy if Wright was the only Democrat on the ballot, because they believe it increases her chances of hanging on to the seat in what's sure to be a tough race.

Interview with Terry Proud, by Richard Brinkley
RDB: How would you have voted on the one percent temporary tax increase?
Proud: I voted against it and I'll tell you why. I downloaded this list this morning. It's a list of ballot propositions going back to 1912. Four or five years ago we did a tax increase again for education programs. It was a .6% tax increase that we voted on for 20 years because this was going to help educate our children. Then there was another bill in here where it allocated the tobacco taxes to go towards education. When we have over half our budget going to education and they still need more money, money is not the problem. It's just a band-aid. The core issue is what we are teaching our kids.
June 11, 2009, Gila Courier
It looks like Rep. Vic Williams' (R-26) vote against the House budget has landed him on Speaker Adams' naughty list. Word from the Capitol is that all of Williams' bills are dead, which is really bad news for the people trying to save spring training baseball in Southern Arizona. Adams does not take kindly to legislators who don't do as they are told, so Williams' vote against a Republican budget was the likely impetus for his legislative castration.
