Citizen Group Policy Surveys




Civil Arizona offers a wide variety of citizen groups the opportunity to get involved in developing Arizona’s public policy.

Our citizen groups members are given the opportunity to build political coalitions at our Stakeholder Summits and to effectively promote their policy preferences on our Civil Arizona website, in our CIVILUTION newsletters and in our CIVILUTION magazine.

Participating Citizen Groups:

We are inviting citizen groups from fifteen different categories to participate in our "Civil Arizona Fiscal Policy Debate".

In each of these categories, we will have up to five different groups involved with presenting and promoting their policy preferences. The selection of these five groups per category will be on a first come first served basis.

Arizona’s community organizations are committed to advancing their cause of building healthy, safe, happy and productive neighborhoods for us all to live in.

Civil Arizona is designed to provide these groups an effective political voice for them to compete on a level playing field with corporate interests that seem to drive many of the state’s economic policies.

Arizona has several policy advocate organizations that have earned influence the development of the states’ public policy.

Civil Arizona offers these groups the opportunity to effectively express and promote their positions in the public market place of ideas.

Voicing Citizen Policy Preferences:
Arizona Health Care Organizations




The proposed budget cuts will dramatically impact Arizona’s health care organizations. A recent Arizona State University study predicted the loss of 42,000 health care jobs, the potential loss of $7 billion in federal health care money and the challenge to Arizona’s emergency rooms of handling 400,000 people that are being removed from the state’s health care program, AHCCCS.

Civil Arizona gives the state’s health care organizations the opportunity to directly tell the public (and the legislature) what they feel is the best fiscal public policy for the entire State of Arizona.

Voicing Citizen Policy Preferences:
Arizona Education Groups




Over 59% of the Arizona’s general fund is spent on education. With the proposed cuts, this percentage could drop to below 50%.

Civil Arizona provides Arizona’s education groups the opportunity to voice their policy preferences concerning the minimum level of expenditures needed to operate the state’s educational system and the funding mechanisms to finance our educational system.

Arizona Education Advocates




Arizona has a track record of making an economic commitment to education yet achieving questionable results concerning the effectiveness of our educational system.

Everybody seems to be asking the question, "Is the state getting the most education for its dollar?"

Civil Arizona provides education advocates the opportunity to present their policy recommendations concerning how to get the most for the dollars that are spent.

Where is the Arizona economy going? Where do we want it to go? What is the best economic policy to enable the state to become what it is capable of becoming?

Because Arizona businesses play a major role in the success of Arizona's overall economy, they have become extremely powerful in influencing the policy development process.

Civil Arizona provides the state’s various Chamber of Commence organizations the opportunity to voice their policy preferences concerning creating a productive business environment for the state.

Arizona Business Associations




The Arizona economy has been traditionally driven by the real estate, retail and service industries. If Arizona hopes to broaden the economic scope of the industry, it will have to look at the policies that have been implemented to support these types of industries.

Civil Arizona gives industry associations the opportunity to voice their concerns about how various policy changes will effect their members.

Arizona Government Agencies




The process of crafting, drafting and passing legislations is extremely complex and requires a specific set of skills. As a result, many Arizona Governmental Agencies employ lobbyists to help them participate within the legislative process to implement new public policy.

Civil Arizona provides these Arizona governmental agencies the opportunity to tell the citizens what their concerns are, to comment on alternative proposals and to directly communicate with the legislature on the impact of alternative policy recommendations.

Arizona Public Safety Employees




Arizona citizens have a great appreciation and support for the men and women who provide public safety services.

The public could sometimes be confused about the these organizations’ dual objectives of promoting the cause of improving public safety and the cause of improving financial compensation for their members.

Civil Arizona provides these groups the opportunity to clearly communicate both the requirements for resources to maintain public services and for the resources required to meet the needs of their members.

Voicing Citizen Policy Preferences:
Arizona Religious Groups




Arizona’s religious organization have a long history of being influential in the shaping of Arizona public policy.

On March 17, 2010, Arizona religious leaders sent Gov. Brewer a letter that stated, "We bishops and judicatory leaders of Christian communities in the state of Arizona stand together in denouncing Arizona House Bill 2001 We implore Governor Jan Brewer and the Arizona State Legislature to work harder to develop an appropriations bill that is just and that is not balanced on the backs of the neediest among us."

Civil Arizona provides religious groups the opportunity to voice their opinions about the role of government in providing a level of basic services to the community.

In today’s political world, practically all counties need a professional lobbyists to help them navigate the legislative process.

Civil Arizona provides Arizona Counties the opportunity to voice their policy preferences concerning how to best provide and fund the services within the counties.
